Disgruntled Homeowner Calls Neighbor’s Lawn “Garbage” and Shares Side-By-Side Photos of Own Lawn for Comparison

There are few things worse than having nosy neighbors. One homeowner in northern Canada took to Reddit to sound off about how much they dislike the look of their neighbor’s lawn.

The Reddit user even shared photos of the neighbor’s property, along with photos of their own land for comparison. The Redditor’s yard consisted of traditional grass, while their neighbor’s lot was entirely covered with gravel.

The Redditor’s Neighbor Was Quite Opinionated

The Reddit user who goes by the handle Moosenordic, shared that they recently purchased their first house.

The next-door neighbor opted to completely clear the grass on his property in favor of a gravel lot. While Moosenordic didn’t understand the purpose of covering the land with gravel, they know that every homeowner is entitled to doing what they want with their property. The real problem is that the neighbor started getting opinionated about what his new neighbor should do with his lawn.

“He completely cut his side of the plot and just put gravel on top,” said the Reddit user. “He doesn’t even build anything on it, just rides an ATV in circles maybe once a month?”

Moosenordic then shared that the irritating neighbor offered some unsolicited advice about how his neighbor’s property should look. “He was annoyed that I didn’t cut my lawn as often as he would want to. I had to remind him it’s my house, my rules,” they explained.

The Pictures Offered a Stark Comparison

The Reddit user shared two photos in their post – one of their natural lawn and one of the neighbor’s gravel-covered ground. Moosenordic’s lawn had ample green grass, trees, and plants, while the neighbor’s looked rather industrial.

The Redditor further explained the state of his neighbor’s plot. “He parks maybe 3 cars and a boat there,” they said. “But they are just cropped in the picture. They already occupy their place. This is just blank garbage that stays like this 24/7.”

Other Redditors shared their two-cents about the neighbor’s lawn. “I mean, at least it’s water wise?” said one commenter before adding, “This is so ugly, I’m so sorry. I’d definitely be putting up and planting things to increase privacy and decrease my view of that.”

Another user slammed the neighbor’s minimalist yard, saying, “It looks desolate. Get some natives growing there.” Moosenordic also got some praise for their luscious lawn, with one user saying, “Nice, the way nature intended.”
